Rapid7 to Address Layered Security Challenges at ISSA, Secure San Diego 2007 Symposium

BOSTON – November 1, 2007 – Rapid7, the leading provider of network and web application vulnerability management solutions for large enterprises and small to medium businesses, today announces Chris Moore will present “7 Layer Security, Everything You Need to Know”, at the ISSA San Diego 2007 Symposium. The Symposium is a one day event scheduled for November 6th, 2007 in San Diego, California.

Chris Moore, Vice President of Engineering at Rapid7, brings 22 years of product development experience to Rapid7, including 15 years managing highly productive and motivated product groups at several leading technology companies. Prior to Rapid7, Moore was an engineering executive at Foundstone where he designed and developed Foundstone’s vulnerability assessment product. After the successful sale of Foundstone to McAfee, Mr. Moore continued to manage McAfee’s vulnerability business unit for several years until moving to Rapid7

Mr. Moore’s presentation is designed for security professionals who need to understand the important aspects of layered security. The following is a brief description of the presentation: “For many years, vendors and security analysts preached the benefits and need for layered security. The layered approach includes such products as VPN, Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention. By layering security technologies, overlaps fill voids and provide a comprehensive security system. Security experts agree the layered approach is imperative for complete security. However, because every security vendor has a specific layered approach that benefits the sale of their products and services, even the best security experts can be confused. What security administrators want to know is; “What are the most important security technologies and solutions where I should focus my resources?”
