NeXpose Hosted Scanning
One of the critical security requirements of most enterprises is the ability to regularly assess the security of the perimeter of its network. Ensuring that the network is secure from inside the firewall from internal threats is just the first step. To be confident that your network is secure to malicious intruders outside the firewall is just as critical.
Most vulnerability assessment tools have difficulty performing this task because most tools have one scanning engine that can not easily move to the outside of the network to try to penetrate its perimeter. Vulnerability scanning services can monitor from outside the firewall, but often their data is stored locally on the hosting company's servers. No matter how secure the hosting company believes it is, your data is residing outside on another company's computers.
NeXpose removes these issues by utilizing multiple scanning engines that can be placed throughout the enterprise network that all feed encrypted scanning information back to the centralize, secured console. Companies can externally check for vulnerabilities and policy violations using an engine hosted at the Rapid7 Data Center, safely testing their environment from both inside and outside their firewall and ensuring that any vulnerability at the perimeter of their networks can be identified and fixed.
Companies can now execute external scans from outside the firewall, ensuring that their network perimeter is closed to unwanted visitors. Plus all scanned data is encrypted and transferred back into the NeXpose device information database stored at the internal NeXpose console for evaluation and reporting. For companies with multiple locations, being able to scan the entire network from the outside is a valuable capability that many other products do not offer.
