Rapid7 Achieves Tenth Consecutive Quarter of Record Revenue and 72% Year-To-Date Growth

Product Innovation, Industry Leadership and New Employee Talent Fuel Company's Continued Growth

Boston, MA - October 26, 2011 - Rapid7, the leading provider of security risk intelligence solutions, today announced that it continues to experience steady growth and marked the tenth quarter in a row with record revenue. The Company closed the third quarter of 2011 with 69% overall growth in revenue over the same period in 2010 and a 72% year-to-date revenue growth compared to 2010, as well as a 92% customer renewal rate for the quarter. To support Rapid7's persistent explosive growth and continue to drive its industry-leading customer satisfaction, the Company's employee count grew 43% since January.

Product Innovation
Rapid7 made significant product enhancements to meet the growing needs of its customers during the third quarter of 2011:

Nexpose:

In July, the Company added support for private cloud deployments based on its multi-tenant architecture, increased deployment flexibility, enhanced integration, superior scalability and improved administrative capabilities to Nexpose, Rapid7's award-winning vulnerability management solution.
In September, Rapid7 pre-announced Nexpose 5.0, which will be available in November 2011. This version of the product introduces industry-first capabilities that enable organizations to ensure virtualized environments are included in the scanning, prioritization and remediation of vulnerabilities, and capture the risk of malware in their overall risk assessment.

Metasploit:
Rapid7 also enhanced Metasploit^® Pro 4.0, its robust commercial penetration testing solution, to help enterprises test systems to prevent data breaches through a variety of deployment options and number of features for automated penetration testing. Metasploit Pro 4.0 includes interfaces for SIEM integrations, public and private cloud deployments, and post-exploitation macros, helping users to increase productivity by focusing on vulnerabilities that are the greatest threat and effectively verifying successful remediation.

As a result of Rapid7's commitment to providing the industry with innovative products that meet growing security and compliance needs, the Company added hundreds of customers to its roster, expanding its reach in the energy, financial services, government, retail, healthcare and higher education markets across the globe. As a testament to its easy-to-use and comprehensive products, as well as the technical support and customer service teams, Rapid7 experienced a 92% customer renewal rate during the third quarter of 2011.

Industry Leadership
Rapid7's continued growth and industry leadership garnered recognition from Inc. Magazine during the quarter, marking the security provider as one of the fastest growing companies in America for a third year in a row. Citing its 3-year sales growth of 307%, the publication ranked Rapid7 as 997 overall, with a No. 20 ranking among security companies and No. 23 ranking in the list of companies in the Boston Metro area.

UNITED Security Summit
The Company collaborated with a number of security vendors to host the industry's first security community event entirely focused on empowering defenders with new ideas and technologies. Attendees benefited from the shared experiences of a range of industry leaders, the opportunity to work together to tackle complex security challenges, and the data from a real breach scenario created specifically for the event.

Magnificent7 open source funding program
Rapid7 announced the creation of a $100,000 investment fund to support up to seven promising open source projects in the security industry. The "Magnificent7" projects will be identified and supported throughout 2012.

New Web services testing methodology
Rapid7 researcher Joshua "Jabra" Abraham disclosed a new Web services testing methodology and portfolio of open source testing tools at Black Hat USA 2011 and DEF CON 19. Working with industry experts Tom Eston of SecureState and Kevin Johnson of Secure Ideas, Abraham released the tools to provide the industry with clarification on Web services testing and stronger penetration testing solutions.
